Rep. Elizabeth Scott talks with KAPS-KBRC about key legislation

Rep. Elizabeth Scott, R-Monroe, talked with Jeff Rex at KAPS-KBRC about several bills which have moved successfully from the House floor and will be considered by the Senate. Scott shared details on House Bill 2399, which if passed, would eliminate revenue-driven law enforcement. Put simply, the measure deals with quotas, which the Republican lawmaker said can be detrimental to the job of policing. Scott also discussed her measure affecting residents who use solid fuel burning devices to heat their homes, and another piece of legislation that focuses on childcare. Scott sits on the early Learning and Human Services Committee and shared with listeners the pertinence of the legislation for community well-being.
